アメリカ独立宣言

    The history of the United States as a   separate nation began on July ４，1776，when the thirteen English colonies  that became its original states  declared their independence  from Great Britain．

   フィラデルフィアで開かれた大陸会議は、独立宣言 the Declaration of Independeceを採択した。起草委員はトマス・ジェファーソン、ジョン・アダムズ、ベンジャミン・フランクリン、ロバート・リヴィングストン、ロジャー・シャーマンの５名だった。宣言は有名な「We hold these  truths to be self-evident．(われわれはつぎにあげる真理を自明のことと信ずる)」という一文ではじまる。
